Oscilloscope

The Oscilloscope visualizer renders your audio as a continuous line that traces the actual sound wave shape in real-time. Inspired by classic laboratory oscilloscopes, it creates a technical, scientific aesthetic that works great for electronic music, synthwave, and retro-futuristic visuals.

Quick Start

Add from Elements tab > Visualizers > Oscilloscope. The display automatically syncs to your audio track.

Properties

Color

Choose the color of the oscilloscope line. Bright greens and cyans give a classic CRT monitor look, while other colors can match your project's style. Animate with keyframes for dynamic color changes.

Opacity

Controls how transparent the oscilloscope appears (0–1). Lower values create a subtle, ghostly effect.

Sample Count

Sets the resolution of the waveform display (256–2048). Higher values show more detail in the audio signal, creating a smoother line. Lower values produce a more pixelated, retro appearance.

Vertical Scale

Controls the height of the wave oscillation (0.25–4). Increase this to make the waveform more dramatic and reactive to loud sounds. Decrease for a more subtle, contained display.

Line Width

Sets the thickness of the oscilloscope line (1–10). Thicker lines are more visible and bold, while thinner lines give a more delicate, technical look.

Tips & Best Practices

Pro Tip

For a classic green CRT monitor look, use a bright green color (#00ff00) and add a subtle Noise effect. Pair with Scanline effect for an authentic retro display aesthetic.
