The Directional Light casts parallel light rays across your entire scene, simulating a distant light source like the sun or moon. Unlike Point and Spot Lights which have a specific position, Directional Lights affect everything in the scene uniformly from a given angle. They're perfect for establishing overall lighting direction and creating consistent shadows.
Quick Start
Add from Elements tab > Lights > Directional Light. Rotate the light to set the direction of the rays.

Properties
Intensity
Controls the brightness of the light (0–500). This affects the overall illumination level of your scene. Higher values create brighter, more prominent lighting with stronger shadows.
Color
Sets the color of the light. Warm oranges and yellows simulate sunrise/sunset, cool whites work for midday sun, and blues create moonlight effects.
Tips & Best Practices
Pro Tip
Directional Light works best as your scene's primary light source, establishing the main lighting direction. Combine it with Point Lights to fill in shadows and add accent lighting. For dramatic sunrise/sunset looks, use warm orange color and position the light at a low angle. Animate the color to transition from day to night themes throughout your video.
