Audio-Reactive Properties and Guides

Here's a quick overview of today's update:

  • Audio-Reactive Properties: Make any visual element pulse, scale, or move in sync with your music's bass, mids, or treble frequencies.
  • Guides: Access the library of step-by-step tutorials, recipes, and keyboard shortcuts for faster learning.

Audio-Reactive Properties

You can now map object and effect properties to your track’s audio frequencies.

  1. Pick a number value slider. Nearly all numeric fields now show a ⚙️ icon.
  2. Turn on Audio reactivity.
  3. Click it to open the frequency selector, choose the bass, mids, treble, or a custom range. After the frequency is selected, you can set the modulation strength and direction:
    • Intensity to control the strength of the modulation.
    • Blend amount is like dry/wet knob. It allows you to mix the modulated value with the original value.
    • Invert reverses the direction of the modulation.
  4. During playback the value will follow the music in real-time and renders will keep the motion.

❗️ Tip: You can combine it with keyframes. Modulation is added on top, so you can still animate manually.

You can read more about audio-reactive properties in the documentation.

Bug fixes

  • Stable keyframe editing: Previously, certain actions—such as adding a new keyframe or editing a property with only one keyframe present—could cause the editor to crash.
  • Template project creation: Some users ran into broken timelines or empty scenes after starting a video from one of our templates.
  • VHS effect rendering: Previously, projects that used the VHS effect would play correctly in the editor but lose the effect once you rendered the final video.
  • Shader keyframing: Keyframing certain shader settings could fail.
